When I was a kid Beirut was in the news a lot for explosions . Then I heard almost nothing about Beirut for 30 years. Now it’s in the news for an explosion, though a different type . It’s like d eja vu all over again.

Beirut has been in political turmoil for over a year, and it was known that a shit ton of ammonium nitrate was stored in the warehouse. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone set the fire intentionally.

A lot of innocent people killed and injured. You certainly could have though t you were at a safe distance and then al l of the sudden you weren’t . There is going to be a lot of second guessing of that storage location and perhaps some hard hitting accountability.
